We’re putting our best feet forward and taking part in this year’s Walking4Norfolk challenge.
Made up of members from The Garage and The Workshop, The Rapid Referral Network Ramblers, Scrambled Legs and the Red Hot Chilli Steppers – are “virtually” walking from Norwich to Notre-Dame in Paris – a total of 375 miles.
Each team member will contribute the daily mileage they have walked locally, accumulating towards the full amount.
They are taking part in the Walking4Norfolk challenge to raise funds for our Chair Bursaries Fund appeal which will help young people facing challenging circumstances use the arts to change their lives here at The Garage in Norwich and The Workshop in King’s Lynn.

James Bagge founded the Walking4Norfolk Fund in 2018. He was inspired by the 100,000 unpaid carers in Norfolk who provide selfless support to ill, older or disabled family members, friends or partners at home, saving the public purse hundreds of millions a year. They include many young carers, who juggle this while pursuing their studies and personal lives.
The Walking4Norfolk Fund is managed by the Norfolk Community Foundation (NCF) and provides grants to organisations offering projects to support unpaid carers, offering breaks from their significant day-to-day caring commitments.
Last year’s lockdown challenge saw teams undertake a “virtual” walk from Land’s End to John O’Groats. Ten teams walked a total of 900-plus miles, raising around £45,000 for four separate charities.
