FREELANCE WITH US
We are looking for energetic, focused, highly skilled freelance tutors to teach our exciting class programme for the 2026-2027 academic year, could you help us do that? We are looking for tutors to teach the following disciplines:
- Acting: General
- Musical Theatre
- Dance: Street Dance
- Dance: Tap
- Dance: Ballet
- Dance: Contemporary
- Dance: Breakdance
- Early Years: Music Focused
- Early Years: Storytelling Focused
- Early Years: Dance & Movement Focused
We are also introducing several exciting new classes to our programme. For these classes we are looking for:
- Film Production Tutor. A facilitator who is confident to guide teenagers and adults through the film production process and the creation of a film project.
- Theatre Production Tutor. A facilitator who is confident to guide teenagers and adults through the theatre production process, from concept to stage.
Comedy. We are looking for facilitators experienced in writing and performing comedy; stand-up, sketch, improv, scripted.

Artists bring imagination, emotion, and connection to the city and The Garage is committed to giving them space to shine through our Scratch night.
HOW ARTIST DEVELOPMENT WORKS AT THE GARAGE
Scratch is an opportunity for East Anglian creatives working in live performance to explore a burgeoning creative idea. At the earliest stage of a development project, we know that a nurturing, compassionate and creative environment and the chance to open the work up to public discussion is invaluable.
Whether you’re working in theatre, music, dance, or across live performance disciplines we’re keen to hear from you.
Artists will receive:
- Up to 5 days of free studio space
- A public sharing of the work, alongside three other artists, to an audience including invited industry guests
- A public feedback session after the sharing
- A quarter-share of box office takings
- Up to 6 hours of mentoring from The Garage Creative Team, including in the room guidance and follow-up evaluation session
