The Garage with King’s Lynn Festival are holding a musical instruments amnesty on the 15 & 16 February to collect unused instruments. Donations will be used at new music workshops for young people in King’s Lynn which will run from Friday 23 February for 10 weeks at the King’s Lynn Providence Street Community Centre. We are after any musical instruments which are no longer needed and could be in need of a small amount of TLC. The instruments donated also need to be relatively easily transportable, grand pianos will be turned down with much regret.
The workshops will cover a variety of topics including recording music, composing, music theory and sampling sounds. The sessions will be led by an experienced music practitioner and are open to all abilities, from absolute beginners to experienced players. There will be a small selection of instruments both traditional and technological on offer and anything donated will add to this collection.
There will be two workshops each week, one for those who are aged 10-16 who are home educated, and a later after school workshop, for anyone aged 8-13.
Donation for the musical instrument amnesty can be dropped off at King’s Lynn Festival Office, Fermoy Gallery, King Street, King’s Lynn on Thursday 15 & Friday 16 February between 10am-5pm.
If you have any questions about the instruments you have to donate get in touch with Fiona Muller on firstname.lastname@example.org
The workshops are £50 for the 10 week term and places can be booked by giving us a call on 01603 283382.
