Spring into 2022 – enjoy even more classes with us from this January

We’re excited to say next Monday sees the return of classes here at The Garage. Gabby Meadows, our Participation Programme manager and a tutor, can’t wait for them to start.

She said: “We have some exciting things in the pipeline performance-wise. We’re delighted to be hosting the Norfolk County Youth Choir, which is completely free to attend. It starts 1 February, every Tuesday, from 6.15pm.

“We’re delighted to be hosting this new group in partnership with the Norfolk Music Hub, and with the support of  Youth Music. It’s open to young people from Year 6 upwards and to all abilities. It’s going to be a wonderful way to start the year and reconnect with singing.

“We’ll also be bringing back more performance opportunities for participants this term, with NT Connections, café gigs, the Love Light Festival in the city and the return of our celebrated Dance Showcase.

“Our Performance Academy is going to be putting on a full-scale musical in the summer. The group meets on a Saturday morning and this term will be forming an ensemble and casting the show. Now’s the time to join and become part of the magic. If you love musical theatre and performing, this really is the class for you.”

Our week-day classes continue with everything from street dance and ballet to breakdance and theatre.

We’ve classes from pre-school for those taking their very first steps, right through to adults who want to re-engage with an art form or develop new skills.

Each one is an opportunity to flex some creative muscle, meet and collaborate with new people and to celebrate the things you love.

Gabby added: “We can’t wait to see you all. And don’t worry – there is still time to book a place in your favourite class, to book a taster for something new or just to come along and see what The Garage is all about.

“Have a look at the classes available on our website, and if you have any questions at all don’t hesitate to contact us – we’d love to hear from you.”

The Covid pandemic has been tough. We’re so grateful for the continued support, understanding and cooperation of our amazing participants and tutors.

Gabby said: “It is and continues to be a group effort to keep our classes and building thriving in challenging times. We’re really positive about our ability to keep up this momentum and want to remind everyone that The Garage are here to support them during this time.”

We’re continuing our robust covid measures, all of which can be found here on our website.

We’ll also offering a “Covid Guarantee” to people who have to miss a class due to having to isolate. You’ll always be given credit for any classes missed, which you can use the following term. If our tutors have to isolate, we’ve plans in place to minimise disruption too.
