New ambassador Gabriel Mokake excited to pay it forward

Actor Gabriel Mokake, one of our newest ambassadors, can’t wait to get working with our talented participants.

He said : “I definitely jumped at the opportunity to support The Garage as this venue provided so many wonderful experiences and memories of my time in Norfolk as a young artist in training. I would hope to give back something in return.

“It ‘s so important to support organisations like them because it’s amazing to have such facilities available for young artists to develop and build on their artistic skills in a safe space.

“I’m looking forward to meeting and working with the young artists for sure, seeing their pathways blossom and perhaps learning a few new things from the next generation. I’m just excited to get started.

“The creative arts industry is extremely challenging and intense, but if you’re hardworking, patient and kind doors will open, and you may surprise yourself.

“Never stop training and immerse yourself in the craft by listening, watching and par-taking in workshops whenever possible. If at first you don’t succeed, pick yourself up and try again until you achieve your dreams.”
