Musical Director, Summer Production

We are looking for an experienced freelance Musical Director to join the creative team for this year’s summer production of Dracula. Over two weeks you will work with a cast of 50 young people aged 8-18yrs, helping to build skills and confidence for live performances of this brand new show. Dates are 5th – 17th August and full details can be found on the Job description.

Volunteer with us this summer! 

We are looking for motivated individuals aged 18+ to join our busy summer production team as volunteers on the creative and support teams. You will be working with our creative team to facilitate the rehearsals and performances of our Summer Production of Dracula.  We spend two weeks rehearsing the production and this culminates with 4 performances in The Garage theatre. The cast is made up of 50 young people between the ages of 8 – 18 years old.  

We are looking for people for the following roles:  

Volunteer support workers, technician, stage managers, costume, set and props.

As a member of the technical production team, the post holder will provide high quality technical support (including lighting, sound, AV and stage management) and maintenance for all venues and equipment.

The position is based at The Garage, Norwich, with occasional travel to King’s Lynn paid for in expenses.

Social Media Marketing Assistant (KICKSTART ROLE)

We are looking for a passionate individual to join our team. Based in the busy marketing team, the postholder will promote our performing arts venue and offering. Working closely with the Marketing & Sales Manager, the postholder will support the Marketing team in running The Garage’s marketing campaigns and social media accounts.

Build your confidence, learn vital transferable skills and gain real experience of working in the Arts & Cultural sector with this Kickstart Scheme placement.
The Kickstart Scheme is a government fund, creating hundreds of thousands of paid, high quality 6-month work placements, aimed at those aged 16-24 who are on Universal Credit.

We are looking for motivated individuals 18+ who have a desire to help others and have an interest in the arts. You would join our busy team as a support worker, working with and supporting our children and young people through their chosen art form. 

You will be supporting the lead tutor in session delivery and planning when necessary, engaging people positively and in accordance to relevant Garage policy, procedure and best practice, paying particular attention to child protection and equal opportunities. Helping encourage raised aspirations, foster positive citizenship, tolerance, empowerment and community cohesion across all ages and cultural backgrounds, ensuring regular feedback between you, the lead tutor and Project Manager where necessary. Identifying Gifted and Talented students within the session and report this back to the tutor, Project Manager and any other relevant partners.

The Garage is looking for a skilled and engaging music tutor to run our Rock School Beginners programme. 

Participants attend this weekly class to build confidence and skills, exploring songs they are familiar with, developing knowledge of song structure and music making, and exploring a range of instruments. They build towards in class sharings and performances as appropriate.



Rock School Beginners, School Years 3-6 at 4-5pm
