Chair of the Board of Trustees

This is an exciting time to join the Board. The Garage is not just as an arts organisation, but a vocational education centre. We work not only in Norwich, but across Norfolk and beyond, and have recently opened The Workshop, a new venue in the centre of Kings Lynn as a base for classes, performance and more.

You will be able to help shape our vision to change people’s lives through art, and to support our growth and development to ensure more people are being inspired to take part in the coming years.

The Garage are pleased to be inviting applications for the Chair of our Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees are responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity, developing the organisations aims, objectives, and goals in accordance with the governing document, legal and regulatory guidelines.

TECHNICAL SUPERVISOR

Full time, permanent.

The Garage Trust Ltd is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the team as Technical Supervisor, providing technical services for events and performances.

ADMINISTRATOR 

20 hours per week, fixed term to March 2021.

We are looking for a diligent individual to fulfil our Administrator role. The Administrator will support engagement, teaching and learning of young people by providing high-quality administrative support as part of Learning and Inclusion teams at The Garage.

YOUTH ARTS WORKER

20 hours per week, fixed term to March 2021.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join The Garage team. The Youth Arts Worker will support children, young people and families who experience barriers to engagement to access the programme of creative activities that take place in The Garage and in the community.

Volunteer Stewards
Department: Front of House

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our volunteer team. You will perform a vital role as the public face of the theatre during our performances, ensuring that our customers have an enjoyable and positive experience.

The role of the Volunteer Steward is to provide a high-quality experience for customers of The Garage.  Responsibilities will vary for each performance and support and supervision will be given from the Duty Manager.

Summer Volunteer Opportunities

We are looking individuals aged 18+ to join our busy creative team that is bought together for the duration of The Garage's Big Summer Production. We spend two weeks rehearsing the production and this culminates with 4 performances in The Garage theatre. The cast is made up of 50 young people between the ages of 7 and 18 years.     Front of House Volunteers
    The Workshop are looking for volunteers to help on front of house. This is an incredible way of getting to know the space and team, whilst participating in the workings of a professional arts organisation. With a mix of day-time and evening shifts up for grabs, this is a brilliant opportunity for someone looking for experience in the industry or a productive and vibrant way of filling their spare time. There will also be opportunities to assist with productions and classes.

    Freelance Vocal Coach 

    We are looking for somebody to help with our Performance Academy's production of The Addams Family. You'll need to be able to lead the singing rehearsals as vocal coach and accompany performers on the piano. Email takepart@thegarage.org.uk

    The Garage has a commitment to staff well-being, and has worked with the Thriving Workplaces team, Norfolk’s free workplaces health provider commissioned by Norfolk County Council to help us build a happier and healthier workforce.

    We encourage staff to watch shows at The Garage as part of their working hours, as a minimum a member of staff and a guest can have a complementary ticket to shows as ‘walk-ins’.

    Where possible we will make a CoL increase each year of at least 0.5%, to be reviewed every September.

    We offer a half hour paid lunchbreak for staff

    We encourage staff to eat their lunch away from their desk, they can do this in any of our vacant spaces – just leave it clean and tidy afterwards
