This is a theatre class for young people aged 13-18 who would like to get involved in a fun and creative class and make new friends. The class uses drama games and exercises to increase confidence, stage presence, learn performance skills and develop their theatre making skills. This will also cover devising, improvisation, characterisation, script work and stage presence.
Breakdown of skills developed and improved for this age group:
- Understanding and knowledge of staging and performance. Using script, status, voice work and physicality.
- Further exploration of other practitioners.
How is a class structured/what do we do in a class? The Theatre class starts with some physical and vocal warm up games. After which, the session focuses on a particular theme, skill or piece of script, depending on what we are working on. At the end of the session we recap and feedback on what has been learnt.
Why would I come to this class? Theatre is a creative class for young people aged 13-18 to learn performance skills while at the same time having fun and making new friends.
