Flamenco is a traditional gypsy dance from Andalucia in Southern Spain, well-known for its passion, its strong, rhythmical and percussive footwork, and expressive wrist and arm movements. It is mainly a solo dance, but may be performed in groups, and is suitable for both men and women. Debbie is an established flamenco dancer, who has been teaching in Norwich and in schools, and performing for many years. She has studied in London and Spain with flamenco stars such as Angel Muñoz, Mercedes Ruiz, Rafaela Carrasco, and Juan Polvillo, to name a few..
Classes cover technique for arms (brazos), wrists (flores), footwork (zapadeado), turns (vueltas), clapping (palmas), and rhythm (compás) as well as choreography. Come and get hooked on the jazzy flamenco rhythms and exciting footwork!
