MUSIC LEADER TRAINING
The Garage is offering professional training for 10 people in leading music workshops. This training is the perfect opportunity for those wanting to get into leading music workshops, or for those who are already working in music delivery, but want extra training to take their sessions to the next level.
This course introduces some of the key ideas and principles that have influenced current educational thinking and practice - with a particular emphasis on ‘Inclusive Practice’. Participants will explore a number of different context and approaches to creative teaching and leading group workshops. Participants will gain an understanding of the different ways people learn and will be able to construct and analyse their own teaching methods and practice – becoming ‘reflective practitioners’ who consistently develop and improve upon their own work.
The course culminates in a paid opportunity to run an open music workshop at The Garage’s Fun Palaces events in South Norfolk for the fee of £75. This will be a great chance for participants to put what they have learnt into practice, and also to promote their own workshops, or teaching.
Training is free, but successful applicants are required to purchase their own public liability cover and DBS check through SoundSense. This costs £60 and can be arranged via the Norfolk Music Hub
The course will run between June and September.
